Riding the Digital Wave, Reaching Far with Intelligence ——China Nerin Empowers Sicomines of China Railway Resources in Digital and Intelligent Construction
Recently, China Nerin signed a contract for digital and intelligent project with La Sino - Congolaise Des Mines S. A. (hereinafter referred to as "Sicomines") of China Railway Resources Group Co., Ltd. According to the cooperation terms, leveraging its industry-leading engineering digital technology with independent intellectual property rights, China Nerin will assist Sicomines in building its Sicomines copper - cobalt mine project located in Lualaba, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, into a benchmark digital twin plant in the overseas non - ferrous metal industry.
Sicomines is an important carrier for China Railway Resources to respond to the national "going global" strategy, invest in and develop overseas mining resources. The Sicomines copper-cobalt mine project is the core and foundation of the "China-Congo Package Cooperation Project". Since 2012, China Nerin has been deeply involved in this project. It has completed the engineering design of Phase I and Phase II, provided manufacturing services for core production equipment such as cathode stripping machine, and offered full-chain technical solutions including the construction of production process automation system.
To further enhance the digitalization and intelligence level of Sicomines, China Nerin's technical team will carry out a series of digital upgrades and renovations for Sicomines' existing production command system. This includes unifying plant-level data standards, conducting digital modeling for major production systems and key production equipment, and building a management and control platform that accommodates diverse and heterogeneous data. The aim is to create a "digital twin" mapping to the physical world for the Sicomines copper-cobalt mine, a world-class super-large copper and cobalt mining enterprise integrating mining, mineral processing, and hydrometallurgy.
As a pioneer in engineering digital technology in China's non-ferrous metal industry, China Nerin will address the core needs of customers for data-driven value throughout the entire project life cycle. Relying on its self-developed NDI, a full-process digital and intelligent solution product for the non-ferrous metal industry chain, China Nerin will help enterprises dig the potential value of data elements in production operation and operational management through functional module development.
This cooperation marks a new stage in the exploration of digital and intelligent development in the overseas mining sector by both parties. China Nerin will take technological innovation as the driving force to promote the upgrading of Chinese-funded enterprises' overseas mining projects towards intelligence and efficiency, injecting digital driving force into the development of mineral resources along the "Belt and Road".
